WOOD WOOD SS14 Collection: Utopia

August 09, 2013 BY OBI ANYANWU

WOOD WOOD shows us their idea of a utopia with their SS14 collection. The elegant and futuristic 31 look collection of mens and womenswear is stripe heavy with simpler patterns and detailing that remove clutter allowing for the rich textures of each piece to be showcased.

The SS14 collection is very sporty, much like WOOD WOOD's previous collections, with a heavy influence on baseball. Bomber jackets and track jackets have varsity stripe detailing that resembles a major leaguer, their logo rested on bucket hats reminiscent of baseball team caps and New Era snapbacks, and vintage pinstripes that look like it came from the Yankees jerseys from Murderers Row in the 1920s. Majority of the looks in the collection had knee high Nike socks and Nike Free Run sneakers to add a dash of modernity to rather retro collection. Each model played the role of today and yesteryear's pitchers, shortstops, outfielders, and catchers both on the field and off the field, which makes us think that the designers at WOOD WOOD believe that the perfect world lies on a baseball field. Batter up!
