Feel that chilly Autumn air? Wave goodbye to Summer and embrace the start of Fall this weekend with Bahr Brown's latest wish list.
40 Belows are what we call these in New York, but head down I-95 to D.C. and theyre called Supers. Timberland has done right by their 40th Anniversary and re-issued this cold-weather classic. Tupac wore these in Juice of course. In The Untouchables with Sean Connery all of the costumes were straight Armani but what did they wear on their feet for the horseback scenes? 40s. These were a staple in my high school days, you had to cough up $180 and that was hefty in the 80s. But these keep your feet happier than a busload of kids in any condition. So pony up and cop these and become what legendary hip-hop group, The Jungle Brothers would call a Forty-Below Trooper! Look out for the drop in the next few weeks; they will be limited.
Cav Empt Noizig Print Shirt at Bodega
Another drop from Cav Empt which is on fire in Hong Kong right now. This abstract printed button-down isnt subtle but it sure is nice. Rarely do you see printed long sleeve button downs that are not too crazy. CE is flying under the radar now, but wont be for long so yall better git up, get out and git some!
Stone Island is hands down one of the best brands around the world right now. From quality to design concepts they are not to be effed with.
Take this simple crew for example; the color of the Flecktarn (German for spotted-camouflage) on this looks like some eroded copper or something. Im a sucker for camo in general but this is next level.
Alden Cordovan Buchanan Boot in Color 8 at Unionmade
Ok grown men, wear this shoe and fully let the world know your style pedigree. Unionmade in SF has been collaborating with Alden for some time now and they put out a ridiculous assortment every season, but this Cordovan leather Indy boot with a crepe sole is retarded. These will move like hotcakes guaranteed. Must cop.
Mark McNairy New Amsterdam Corduroy Cargo Trouser at Norse Store
Away with the light khakis and linen pants. Time to pull out the heavy denim and corduroy! I love the Fall. McNairy makes a really nicely fitted cargo pant, and this corduroy version does not disappoint. Ive worn these for two Winters and the fit is excellent. I like the 6-pocket option for stashing my Kiehls lip balm, car keys, phone etc.
Woolrich John Rich & Bros. Arctic Parka from Need Supply Co.
Couple this classic Woolrich parka with those Timberlands I mentioned earlier and you might be mistaken for Rakim in the Know The Ledge video. Sorry I cant get away from mentioning the movie Juice. This style was designed by John Rich in 1830 and has been the backbone for Woolrich since its inception.
The Dark Royal is a new color way (a departure from the usual Navy). My wife bought me a big 3X tan one back in 1998 from Tent & Trails downtown and Ive since downsized to a L, but please believe me this is the best Winter coat you can buy.
MontBell Ex Light Down Jacket at MontBell
Japanese brand MontBell has been playing the outerwear game since 1975, and they are all-stars. Patagonia, North Face, Marmot and so on, theyre watching MontBell. Coming with lightweight technical jackets, hard or soft shell, along with the ill goose down you wont be mad on any face of the Matterhorn. Nor in these New York winter streets; MontBell is light but holds its weight.
Stormy Kromer Mackinaw Cap at Stormy Kromer
Way back, when I had the red and black lumberjack, with the hat to match! Christopher Wallace
Stormy Kromer has been around since 1903 and makingthis hat. It was designed by company founder George "Stormy" Kromer who played semi-pro baseball and was a railroad engineer. Go figure! He needed a hat that fit snugly like a baseball cap but could also withstand the wind when sticking his head out the window of the train. This stylish cap is the final product and has stood the test of time. Made in America, well-priced and a real compliment getter. I have three.
BBC Black Ripstop Higgins Pant at BBC/Ice Cream
Mark McNairy is renowned for putting a twist on classic menswear. His collaboration with Pharrells label Billionaire Boys Club has birthed BBC|Black a streetwear collection made from Crye Precision military performance fabrics, in other words dope techy ish. Im not too into the whole all black errything but I have always loved the Higgins pants. Here in hi-tech ripstop fabric; Im sold.
Whats In Store with Bahr Brown? doesnt exclude the iTunes store, so make sure you go pre-order my homeboy Pusha Ts new album My Name Is My Name
Its going to be a certified classic and hip-hop is in dire need of anything classic right now! #MNIMN
