Weekend Offender was born from the minds of Sam Jones and Rydian Powell in 2004,. The duo, a clothing store owner and graphic designer respectively, set out on a side project which has since become Weekend Offender, a brand that has a finger on the pulse of the United Kingdom’s youth culture. In less than a decade, Weekend Offender has opened their own retail location in London’s SoHo, and has two lines named Mainline and Category A. While the brand’s Mainline is very bold, colorful and eye-catching, Category A has subtle detailing and a refined design. Weekend Offender is straight to the point, no frills or any “bells and whistles”. What you see is what you get, and so far it has caught the attention of British GQ and FHM as well as rapper, Mac Miller and Saturday Night Live’s comedy music group, The Lonely Island. This fall, Weekend Offender will make their debut in the US giving the western world an opportunity to get their hands on what is taking the UK by storm.
Weekend Offender continues to channel the subcultures of the United Kingdom for SS14. The loyal customers of the brand know what to expect by now – sharp cuts, premium fabrics, and mod silhouettes – with a nod to music, film, sports, and the past and present youth cultures of the UK. The offering for SS14 is a collection of no-nonsense, functional clothing with an insubordinate twist.
Island fruits and nights on the beach inspired the color story, which consist of bright citrus colors and nightshades that capture the beauty of a tropical getaway. Keep an eye out for the jackets and knitwear of the collection especially a Bomber Jacket with a rib trim and a heavily printed “dove” lining detail that is undoubtedly an attention-grabber and a piece that will be hot for many seasons to come.
Weekend Offender will touch down in the states for the first time this fall, so now is a better time than ever to get acquainted with the brand before SS14.
Check out the Weekend Offender SS14 collection at Capsule Vegas next month.
