After spending 40 years at the top of bootmaker chain, Timberland is celebrating the big 4-0 with their LTD Collection. The collection consists of three iconic boot styles – the Yellow Boot, the World Hiker and the Super Boot – updated with modern boot technology that was developed by the brand over their 40 year span. Timberland will produce only 1,973 pairs of each style, which will be numbered on the outside of the tongue.
The Yellow Boot, arguably the most popular Timberland boot, will be available later this month in 6″ with a white collar, brass eyelets, Gore-tex lining and will be insulated with 400 grams of Primaloft ($220 suggested retail price). The World Hiker boot, which is Timberland’s partnership boot with Montebelluna from 1994, will be released on October 25th ($250 SRP) and on November 23rd, the Super Boot also known as “The 40 Below” boot will stand at 10″ tall like its original design from 1979 and will have a tough, Krymp leather upper ($260 SRP).
Timberland partnered with the Rig Out, Noah Kalina and Mr. Mort for the video above that takes the styles out of the city and into the woods of Beaver Brook, NY as well as a digi-mag coming soon entitled, ‘Into the Trees’.
The boots will be available at David Z, Jimmy Jazz and Atrium/Kith in NYC, Villa in Philadelphia and Detroit, Major and DTLR in Washington D.C. and Dope in Los Angeles. Those not in those select cities will still have a chance to snag a pair via auction starting on September 25th that will help support the Rainforest Alliance’s Sustainable Tourism program.
