Tigersushi, the Parisian music label was founded in 2001 and run by brothers, Joakim and Mattias, who added a full fledged mens and womenswear line in 2008 when cousin, Laurene, asked if she could head the endeavor. Tigersushi Furs was born, and it was an instant success filled with simple pieces accented in bright colors and patterns– not to mention the standard pixelated tiger face that heads the companies logo.
The SS14 line brings a playful experience that reminds us of a retro vision of the future. We’re seeing tiger stripes (naturally) in black and blue, as well as a series of sweaters in different colors that magnifies the pattern down to just three or four slanted lines. For women, large grey and white stripes combine with orange and white checks to create an unforgettable outfit accented by a colorful statement necklace. Geometry is definitely at work here while lines are colliding, twisting and constantly running into different shapes and patterns. What we have here folks, is math at it’s best.
