July 22, 2015 BY STEVE DOOL

Designers Tanya Taylor and Siki Im were named the US regional Woolmark Prize winners for womenswear and menswear, respectively, last night at a ceremony at Milk Studios.

Each winner will receive 50,000 Australian dollars, and the chance to compete in the international finals held early next year, where they will face off against winners from Europe, Asia, the British Isles, Australia, and India, Pakistan and the Middle East. Winners of that prize receive 100,000 Australian dollars, plus the opportunity to have the collections they created for the competition sold at retailers like 10 Corso Como, Saks Fifth Avenue and, among others.

The US leg of the competition was judged by Esquire's Nick Sullivan; Malcolm Carfrae of Ralph Lauren; CFDA CEO Steven Kolb; W's Stefano Tonchi; Colleen Sherin and Eric Jennings of Saks Fifth Avenue; John Varvatos; Francisco Costa; and InStyle's Ariel Foxman.

Taylor previously competed in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, while Siki Im has been designing progressive menswear under his eponymous label since 2009.
