With menswear market in full gear, we touched base with some great retailers and asked them what they're looking for for SS16 as the hit the shows. Stefano Valentini, of the MIlan based designer oriented boutique Paris, in Rome is looking for unisex pieces.
What trends or key items do you expect to get behind for SS16? Why?
SV: I think that for S/S2016, the principal elements that we can expect are unisex style, understood as “no gender”, active wear, contemporary uniforms for an army of willing, because it is important to wear proper costumes for our century. I believe that the products will be manufactured using high end tailoring and dressmaking techniques.
Which designers' collections are you most excited to see for SS16? Why?
SV: I am very excited to discover independent designers and brands because I like to seek out products that are done by hand, artisanally. I also like one of a kinds and limited editions.
What's selling well in your store now?
SV: Here in the store we have avant-garde collections from Julius - Garden, Jan Jan Van Essche, The Viridi Anne, Forme d’ Expression, Lost & Found, near a “street-world”, that decidedly has a stronger style, like Tourne de Transmission, or 11 of Boris Bidjan Saberi. We also do well with the authentic taste of Japanese denim: Orslow and Ordinary Fits.
