Two-time CFDA Award nominee, Duckie Brown was founded by Daniel Silver and Steven Cox in 2001. Silver and Cox continues to set their New York-based brand aside from other menswear lines with their unique choices of fabrics and color stories. In 2009, Duckie Brown partnered with shoe brand Florsheim to produce the collaboration collection, Florsheim by Duckie Brown. The collaboration is what you’d expect, Florsheim’s excellent quality shoes paired with Duckie Brown’s unconventional, bold patterns and colorways. If you see a pair of “ducky” yellow or deep purple brogues walking the streets of New York City, you’ll instantly know that Silver and Cox are the great minds behind the stylish shoe.
It looks like the duo’s craving for ice cream inspired their designs and color choices for the Florsheim by Duckie Brown SS14 collection. The shoe collection has a much softer color palette and features patent leather materials and florals patterns reminiscent of ice cream scoops and sprinkles. The popular beaded brogue from past seasons will return but will be named the Armored brogue and will look like a freshly prepared ice cream cone this time season.
The piece of the season is their Laceless Saddle. Shoe laces and lace holes were removed for a sleek look, a new take on their previous laceless styles. The shoe seen below is available in two-tone colored and natural leathers paired with mirrored silver. If you have a sweet tooth and are hungry for fashion, this collection will definitely satisfy both cravings.
The full Florsheim by Duckie Brown SS14 collection will be at Capsule New York and Capsule Las Vegas.
