Last week during Copenhagen fashion week, Soulland opened the doors to their very first flagship store. I stopped by to ask their buyer Frederik Hansson to elaborate a little on their new shop and visions behind it.
Frederik Hansson: “US Import was an outdated project that no longer matched the place Soulland is today. The opening of our first flagship store, in our hometown Copenhagen, came as the next obvious step in Soulland’s development as a brand. The store is going to convey the world of Soulland from a retail perspective by elements such as design and music, and furthermore be the connecting link from Soulland’s own products to the end-consumer.
Our new store will also offer other brands, that we feel will compliment our own products and take it to a higher level – a concept store that will communicate the values of Soulland. This was also the reason for changing the name from US Import to Soulland Store. Soulland Store is Soulland.”
Apart from Soulland the store carries brands such as ACNE jeans, AVEC, A Kind of Guise, P.A.M, Dana Lee, Democratique Socks, Journal, KTZ and magazines such as DANSK Magazine, Mandatory, Dazed & Confused and Monocle.
Check out the video for Soulland’s SS14 collection ‘KATASTROPHE’ here – It even features their easy-on-the-eyes-buyer Frederik.
Soulland store is located at Gammel Kongevej 37, 1610 Copenhagen V.
