Lust Covet Desire is no newcomer to the retail scene, but the editorial-focused online shop recently opened their first brick-and-mortar location and it’s perfect. Former music industry executive Geraldine Chung launched her webshop in 2012 and, despite others’ doubts and misgivings, decided it was time for a physical LCD shop.

Being that she was already based in Venice, it made sense to stay in the area. “I really love the laid back vibe of Venice and how multicultural it is,” said Geraldine. “When I moved to LA from New York, it was the only place I wanted to be. I love the history and that it’s by the beach—and 15 degrees cooler than everywhere else in LA. I love that you can walk and bike everywhere.”

Currently stocking lines like Ryan Roche, Sandy Liang, Shaina Mote, Henrik Vibskov, and Brother Vellies, LCD has unsurprisingly gained a sort of cult following. “I love every brand that I carry,” she said. “I don’t really buy something if I have lukewarm feelings about it. There has to be a story behind the brand, or a collection that speaks to me—and hopefully to my very amazing awesome clients.”

With a minimal aesthetic matching the online store, the new space is clean, fresh, and somewhat off the beaten path compared to the more commonly known stores peppering Abbot Kinney. “Lincoln Boulevard was especially intriguing to me and it felt right for my store,” said Geraldine. “None of the designers I carry are necessarily ‘mainstream,’ so it didn’t make sense to invest in being on a mainstream street.”

Here, her favorite picks for daily visits and beyond in her neighborhood.

Gjustajusta
Gjelina’s sister restaurant and Bon Appétit’s Best New Restaurant in America. It’s so busy during the day and no one really realizes it’s open at night! Best food, super chill vibes, and amazing staff.

Menotti’s
I only go to the beach really early in the morning in order to avoid skin damage and tourists, and my favorite ritual is to stop here for a flat white. Their barista’s know what’s up and are always playing the best music. In the mornings it’s all locals, which is how I like it!

Chariots of Fire

I love both of these shops for beautifully curated home and gift items.
