Earlier this summer we introduced you to Beaubien, a store who is focused on bringing international brands to Paris without taking away from the shopping experience. We sat down and talked to founder and buyer, Julien Bouzereau about what it’s like to enter the Parisian retail world, his favorite brands for the upcoming season and what he’s got in store. Read on, read on…
What do you expect to be a major trend or must- have item/classification for SS14? (feel free to elaborate here)
Simplicity: laid-back silhouettes made of simple cuts and subtle, primary and pastel colors.
I expect sophistication to be on fabrics, colors, and a couple of crazy prints and patterns.
Which collections are you most looking forward to seeing and why?
Libertine-Libertine: Their collections are getting stronger from season to season, but are still a unique mix of urban coolness, subtle details, great fabrics and prints – all of this with a good price positioning!
Orslow: The focus is on high-quality, vintage-inspired products, and it is always a great pleasure to feel the fabrics and check all the details.
Battenwear: Battenwear is sportswear at its best – well made clothing for everyday city wear – and I can’t wait to see the new collection grow with more styles!
How do you see men’s style evolving for next summer?
For me what is exciting about menswear is the quest for perfect, timeless pieces we all have in mind. That may sound common sense, but still not that easy to find the perfect summer chinos, tees, polos or knitwear!
