Day four of Paris Fashion Week came and went. With big names like Dior Homme, Kenzo and Hermés, we couldn’t wait to see what looks would hit the runway. And oh did we like what we saw… Catch up with day 1, day 2, and day 3 here. Read on for our recap of day 4 at Paris Fashion Week.
Kenzo‘s RTW Spring’14 collection has us dreaming about the Venice California boardwalks. In Kenzo fashion, loose and light pieces of clothing were splattered with loud graffiti-esque patterns and ocean motifs. Pants were cropped or lose and the collection reminded us of a troupe of impeccably dressed surfers.
As WWD mentioned, many of the Eurpean designers presenting in Paris have had palettes filled with autumn colors. Dior Homme was no different. Kris Van Assche filled his collection with burgundy and grey-sky blues. The pieces were a mix of boxy suits and athletic pieces, geometric patches, and long fitted jackets.
This collection, heavy on the prints, was executed perfectly. Japanese designer Miharayasuhiro was inspired by japanese nature and his pieces were filled with feathers and bonsai trees. The collection was meant for a chilly spring with bulky tees, bomber jackets, slim fitting pants along with loose and light pairs.
Véronique Nichanian was clearly inspired by loungewear in the Hermés RTW collection. We were greeted with a palate just brighter than pastels but still soft. The pieces were the same, soft and comfortable yet exciting. Crocodile slippers, linen tee shirts, lambskin coats, and a python bomber jackets. The collection was simple and beautiful.
Damir Doma RTW collection was filled with a palate reminiscent of overcast skies— grays, whites, purples and blues, all muted. The pieces were utilitarian; inspiration could have been drawn from the uniforms of safari men, hospital workers, and military. We saw boxy overcoats with pointed colors, shorts and high waisted pants that fell off the models.
