Robert Geller looked to the 1970s British sci-fi movie, The Man Who Fell To Earth, for his FW14 collection that was about the adapting and blending in with new surroundings while traveling. David Bowie starred in the movie, and played the role of an extraterrestrial that had to assimilate with the people of Earth to fulfill his mission. The collection reflected the movie with a bevy of strong shouldered jackets, nylon and mesh fabrics, and a very somber, yet unexpected color story that reflected Bowie's on and off screen style that fit in with the people, but was undoubtedly his distinct style.
The high points in the collection are the neoprene outerwear pieces and skinny pants that gave the collection a futuristic appeal, the unique treatment of leather that appeared to be soft and supple, and Geller's signature layering.
