KYE SS14 Lookbook: Surgery Chic

The young brand, KYE planted it roots in 2011 and has since been a huge hit among an international group of retailers. Kathleen Kye's inspiration behind the SS14 collection can be found behind hospital doors in the aftermath of plastic surgery and medical treatments. It has been described as "fun-living fashion: extraordinary concepts and shapes that render fashion art products".

Prints based upon guns and broken skulls lie in a square frame while psychological abnormalities are reflected in metallic fabrics. Hallucinations and paranoid delusions are represented in pieces that remind us of white straight jackets with matching wrist bands. Taking the inspiration to a more literal level, we've got metallic bandaids "stuck" onto various items as if to keep the items together, and although the idea behind the collection is a bit dark, the pieces are brought to life in a fun and light manner. We would gladly take that snap-back with the bandaids and call it a day. Click an image to start the slide show.
