Paris based clothing brand and music label, Kitsuné was founded in 2002 by Gildas Loaëc, Masaya Kuroki and Patrick Lacey, Benjamin Reichen, Kajsa Ståhl and Maki Suzuki of the London-based design company Åbäke. Loaëc and Kuroki are avid music fans that love fashion, and after several trips to Japan, they decided to build a company that combines their two passions. For over 10 years, Kitsuné has provided the best in electronic music and high quality clothing with a clean and minimal design that is an example of the phrase, “less is more.” The cult fan base is expanding, becoming legions of fans worldwide that want a piece of the red, white, and blue fox.
Kitsuné Tee is one of the collections under Maison Kitsuné, and it perfectly blends music and fashion fulfilling the goal of Loaëc and Kuroki. The youthful line features fun designs from in-house artists and collaborators printed on the best, quality t-shirts. The brand creates messages that reflect their closeness and excitement for their home city, Paris. For SS14, Kitsuné Tee goes nostalgic by garnering inspiration from 90s rock bands and rap acts. The collection channels the energy of cool, 90s youths that are out of school for the summer and clamored to MTV, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and weekends at the mall.

At Capsule New York, Maison Kitsuné will show their Parisien line for the first time. The Parisien line was made by Paris and for Paris. It’s much like Kitsuné Tee in that it’s youthful, but it is much more seasoned and mature. Parisien is all about quality, the power of a good shirt and knitwear that’ll last a lifetime but also make a strong statement. The line captures the essence of Paris and the definition of high quality, menswear essentials.
Both lines say different things, but they tell the same story. They work so well separately, but also work hand-in-hand. Kitsuné is undoubtedly taking over, slowly becoming more than just a music label and clothing line. Kitsuné is a lifestyle brand that will change your taste in music and fashion.
Kitsuné Tee and Parisien SS14 Collections will be at Capsule New York & Capsule Vegas.
