Karl Lagerfeld has announced plans to expand his personal brand with the launch of his own international hospitality line. The designer’s new venture titled Karl Lagerfeld Hotels & Resorts will include an international chain of luxury hotels, restaurants, private members’ clubs, and residential buildings under a long-term partnership with Brandmark Collective BV, an Amsterdam-based hospitality company.
“Expanding our brand into the hospitality sector reflects our greater vision to broaden Karl Lagerfeld’s comprehensive lifestyle experience,” Pier Paolo Righi, CEO and president of the Karl Lagerfeld brand, said in a press release.
Lagerfeld is no stranger to bringing his signature style to the world of hospitality. Previously he designed the pool at the Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo in Monaco, suites at the Parisian Hotel de Crillon, and his own 270-room hotel in Macau, China, which is set to open in 2017.
Lagerfeld joins a growing list of brands in the hotel business that includes those like Tommy Hilfiger, Bulgari, Armani, and Versace. -Erica Euse
