“Wear black to attract the heat.” “Don’t wear white after Labor Day…” Blah blah blah. There are so many fashion rules and how-tos that it has become difficult to keep up with. As if the fashion police will arrest you for breaking the rules for a day. It’s not a crime, and rules are made to be broken anyway right? In fact, there is no fashion police so who cares?!
This Autumn season, designers are pushing the envelope by disregarding a few fashion rules. The color white, one of most versatile yet difficult colors to wear, will be a prominent color of the AW13 season. Basic white t-shirts and white jeans can’t hold a candle to some of the pristine white pieces coming from Rick Owens, Givenchy, Gucci, and others. White outerwear is huge next season as well as white sweaters and white suiting. Save the white pieces for the post-blizzard sunshine for a great effect. The sun will reflect off of the snow and off of your jacket, sweater, or suit. You’ll have a glow while walking down the street, literally. What better way to call the attention of the so called fashion police? Don’t worry about the Labor Day rule, we’re behind you 100%.
