Copenhagen Fashion Week Diary: Day 3

August 10, 2013 BY WATM

Andree Hoxfeldt, our Copenhagen Fashion Week correspondent is right in the middle of it all. Hes got the hook up and is letting us into his fashion-week world. Heres the second installment of his Copenhagen Fashion Week Diary.

Getting out of bed was not easy today. I stayed out a little longer than I should have (and ended up getting a drunk tattoo), so thank God for sunglasses and the iced lattes that were handed out at City Hall.

My first show today was Freya Dalsjø, another new promising Danish talent just like yesterdays Anne Sofie Madsen. This was Freyas third show at Copenhagen Fashion Week and even though shes fairly new in the game, I had built up some expectations to what her show was going to be like. She has previously shown an incredible and award-winning talent for creating flamboyant sculpted clothing in fur and leather, but this season she surprised everyone with something completely different. Kimonos and floating dresses in colors and geometric patterns that made you think Soulland wasnt the only brand this year to have found inspiration from Bauhaus.

Something rather magical happened later at City Hall. In danger of sounding a little too gay, I must say Moonspoon Saloons show was F-I-E-R-C-E! The models were Naomi Campbell walking like there was no tomorrow in colorful cat suits, leather hot pants and glittery platforms. The show deserved its standing ovation and took the prize as my favorite show of the season.

Two DJ gigs were ahead of me that night, both for DANSK Magazine. The first party was held outside in the courtyard of the DANSK HQ. People were dancing on the tables and the party turned into a big pillow fight, leaving the courtyard covered in white feathers. Later, the DIESEL and DANSK fashion week party went down in the meatpacking district of Copenhagen and provided a perfect ending for this season's fashion week.
