You can clearly tell that Asger Juel Larsen has worked for Burberry Prorsum and John Richmond – his outerwear is gorgeous and well-fitted no matter what the material may be.
But Juel Larsen has been working hard over the last couple of years to establish himself as one of Scandinavian menswear’s brightest shining stars. With this collection, he continued that work. Called “Arctic Suburb Manual”, it was a hardcore collection with suburbia, techno-references (just look at those screamingly tacky-but-cool tribalprints!) and lots and lots of wearable pieces.
He works in neoprene, mesh, nylon, and high-tech fabrics and his signature hand drawn prints – one is icy blue while another consists of doll heads with glowing eyes. Freaky and out there and pretty demanding of the wearer. But Asger Juel Larsen gave the crowd what they needed, and once again he proved that he can make great clothes that stick out.
