The last couple of seasons Anne Sofie Madsen has rose to be one of the most promising stars of avant-garde fashion in Europe. Her designs are a mix of extravagance, fierceness, punk, and great detailing – all of it handmade, of course.
For AW14 she looked towards Antarctica and combined it with the millenium fear of the 90s. Focus is on technique as she’s developed her own leathers with shoe maker ECCO and done intricate furs with Kopenhagen Fur – a collaboration that proved succesfull, as the pieces are some of the best of the collection. And, one might add, she’s keen on functionalism: even though the furs may look chunky, they’re lined with mesh on the inside so the wearer has a sporty feel – likewise, the big leather jackets are lined with warm neoprene.
Her sheer and embellished couture dresses are a signature of hers, and she combined it with loose silk, microfibers, bleached denim, embellished cotton sweaters and neoprene for more wearable looks. The accessories were handmade by jewellery designer Trine Tuxen and the gorgeous fur helmets where done by miliner Søren Bach.
