Enigmatic menswear brand, Chapter keeps people guessing with their designs and aesthetic. The brand is described as “stylistically complex” and contradictory due to their design. Their SS14 collection entitled “Lucid Void”, photographed by Eliot Lee Hazel, evokes vastness through simple approaches. The minimalist designs of the collection pull the attention to the model despite the interesting, and at times, immense locales. The collection itself is fully functional, refined, and dark though lighter colors and patterns pop throughout.
The brand played with proportions heavily in this collection. They found a balance of casual relaxation on fitted silhouettes especially on an oversized drop shoulder shirt style with 3/4 sleeves and a long sleeveless mandarin collar shirt that has been over-dyed for one style and is offered in linen and a washed silk fabric. Notable bottoms include a reversed box pleated pant, a layered pleat relaxed pant, oversized suspender shorts, and a paneled skirt. The proportion story continues on to Chapter’s outerwear, consisting of oversized lightweight jackets, collarless trenches, and their piece of the season- a metallic bomber jacket. The fine details shine throughout Chapter’s SS14 collection, and should not be missed.
The Chapter SS14 collection will be at Capsule New York next week and Capsule Vegas next month.
