Founded in 2013, Finnish label Alina Piu specializes in scarves, beanies and other knitwear ethically made in Finland. While the team has enjoyed success and built a following with their accessories range, for AW15, they're expanding beyond those signature products for the first time, to include sweaters, cardigans and wrist warmers, as well. Like their cold weather accessories, these new additions will be made of high quality lambswool from England and will include both fair isle knits and solid color knits.
The inspiration for the patterns and colors for the season comes from the architecture and atmosphere of Finnish artist residences from the early 20th century located near Lake Tuusula, north of Helsinki. Pekka Halonen's residence Halosenniemi was also used as the location for the AW15 collection photo shoot.
For a taste of the finest from Finland, you can see the full Alina Piu AW15 collection at Capsule Paris Women's, March 6-8.
