Cars and fashion have always had a strong relationship, and this season Cadillac is continuing its play to lure fashion forward shoppers to experience their brand. Cadillac has teamed up with the CFDA to launch Retail Lab, a mentorship program that will give young designers the opportunity to run their own pop-up shop out of an 800-square foot space on the ground floor of Cadillac's headquarters in New York.
There is a rigorous application process for interested designers, and Retail Lab's advisory board includes noteworthy names like Billy Reed, Josh Peskowitz, Simon Doonan, Julie Gilhart and Steven Alan. Participating designers will also receive mentorships by industry experts and a $75,000 grant. Kicking off the Retail Lab in July for a 3 month stint will be Timo Weiland, who plans to program the space with events, films, parties and other cultural happenings in addition to showcasing his collection. Designers interested in applying for the opportunity to participate in this amazing program should visit the CFDA website for more info.
