Berlin’s newest concept store

April 14, 2015 BY THE GENTLEMAN

Since February, Berlin has a new concept store in Mitte. The Store, as it is simply called, encompasses over 2800m2 of the lower levels of Soho House and offers a cool mix of fashion, art, books, barber, organic food and flowers in a lofty but cosy environment.

Founder Alexa Eagle worked in partnership with several other service providers to put the store together. So the selection of vintage books, for example, are from Idea books (the same bookseller as in Dover Street Market), the selection of flowers is by florist Mary Lennox and the barbershop is by Barber & Parlour.

In the menswear section it is possible to find a more sporty and casual selection that includes the coveted sweaters by Neil Barrett, or the minimalistic style of Joseph and the famous polo shirts by Sunspel. For womenswear, preference is given toward contemporary and fashion-forward brands like The Row, Proenza Schouler and Marques Almeida.

The main concept is not to work only as a shop but also as a “shoppable home” and a freelancer-friendly co-working space. It is worth a visit, especially on these days you are in search of inspiration.
