Known for their innovative technical outerwear, AETHER Apparel has added another inventive design appeal to its newest venue. The label has finally gone bicoastal and opened its first brick and mortar location in NYC. Nestled in SoHo, the shop is designed with a 16 foot wall of stacking logs, bespoke wood crates with a white laminate interior and LED lights showcasing their men’s and women’s outdoor goods.
Founders Jonah Smith and Palmer West collaborated with Paris-based designer Thierry Gaugain in the design concept of AETHERnyc. Earlier this year, they opened AETHERsf, which was uniquely constructed out of 3 shipping containers and a mobile pop-up shop AETHERstream released in 2011. AETHER Apparel stays true to their belief of design and functionality as the each shop complements the aesthetic in the collections. Check out the new digs in the video below.
