A Dose of (capsule) NY: Onia

July 20, 2010 BY CAPSULESNEWS

Onia, which means boat in Hebrew, is Carl Cunows answer to the tawdry and garish swimwear that crowds and stifles the aesthete off the beach. While shopping for swimwear, Cunow noticed, nothing was simple, plain, and basic. Onia fills that void with clean designs and quality fabrics that rarely appear on swimwear. The inner netting on the shorts is made with an imported Japanese fabric that wont cling or bunch when wet; such a friendly feature. The more elaborate of the designs is a print, almost damask-like. Elaborate really isnt the appropriate word though. The print is subtle, like all things Onia. Yet another well-rounded collection at (capsule). (Antonio Reis)
