XLarge SS17 Preview

August 01, 2016 BY CAPSULE

This iconic streetwear brand launched in the 90s, and now, 25 years later, the brand is making a comeback, offering modern takes on the now classic styles and graphics of this influential label. For SS17, X Large offers a new take on the iconic Alpha Industries MA-1 bomber-- and cutting it from the standard olive material from Alpha’s other flagship model, the M-65. Both lower sleeve panels are given a 3M treatment with a 3M back print of Xlarge’s OG Gorilla logo. When the jacket is reversed, it reveals a full 3M body with olive lower sleeve panels and a custom Blood Chit patch in 3M print.

The SS17 collection looks back to the post-war movement of the 70's--incorporating bold graphics, military garments with a DIY touch, and early digital influences. Early computer graphics, Post-war American ads, and blue collar workwear mixed with military iconography are the basis for the collection. Make sure you check out the quilted nylon jacket with custom patch application, and enzyme washed M-65 jacket with patchwork detail at Capsule Las Vegas, August 15-17. b1432239a4c2688b2f1ce582dd51694a18a17a98.jpg
