WOOD WOOD: New York Street Cool

Taking inspiration from the New York intersections where loud culture runs straight through a corner basketball game and then past a bustle of school kids and into a street performance comes the Autumn Winter '13 collection from WOOD WOOD.

If you think about what might happen if you combine a school uniform with one meant for athletics, and then add in prints inspired by a myriad of cultures, you've got the fall collection. The designers explain that "prints include original discharge prints on denim and chambray and a unique take on Rorschach inkblots are tweaked and used as all-over print on heavy canvas and delicate silk. In typical Wood Wood manner a floral print is utilized to contrast the heavy Rock’n’roll vibe. The graphics in the collection revolve around different connotations of what a club is. The result is a mix of simple but striking visuals referencing sports, biker culture and the early punk scene, all created with a do-it-yourself aesthetic using ink, spray, markers, tape and photocopier."

Using the perfect fall fabrics– wool, leather, and premium jersey–and a color palate that is filled with dark greens blues and black, the collection is made exciting with bright bursts of patterns and color.

The collection hits the online store August 5th. Ready your credit cards kids and click a photo below to begin the slide show.
