This year's crop of American nominees for the International Woolmark Prize were announced this morning, and include a cross-section of designers who've been making waves in the industry in recent months.
The women's nominees are Chris Gelinas, Kaelen, Nellie Partow, Novis and Tanya Taylor. Cadet, David Hart (above), Lucio Castro, Siki Im and Thaddeus O’Neil round out the men's finalists. This year will be only the second year Woolmark has offered a menswear prize. Last year's US winners in the men's category were Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow of Public School, who also went on to win the International Prize, as well.
US winners will be announced July 21 in New York, and will then go on to compete against winners from Antwerp, the British Isles, Dubai, Shanghai and Sydney for the international title.
