A New Breed of Bloggers

A new article by the New York Times profiles the latest phenomenon in fashion: menswear bloggers. While their presence has long been known by industry insiders and adoring fans, the story catapults these adult males into the spotlight, portraying them as a clan of hyper-masculine "dudes" who write about fashion, something that's long been stigmatized as effeminate. Among the bloggers profiled are Mordechai Rubinstein, Marcus Troy, Jake Davis, Michael Williams and Lawrence Schlossman. (via: NYT)

Apparel and Accessories Stores Show Growth

During this crucial holiday season, one many retailers hoped would provide the boost they needed to carry them far into the black, it appears as though apparel and accessories stores were the only ones to show any signs of sales growth. While department stores and general merchandise stores both posted sales declines, a report by the U.S. Commerce Department shows that sales at apparel and accessories stores rose 0.7% in December. Crocs Sales To Exceed $1 Billion

Hate 'em all you will but if the latest figures are any indication, we'd say Crocs are here to stay. The company just announced that it expects its full-year revenue to exceed $1 billion for the first time in its 10-year history. Obviously, investors and shareholders were thrilled about the news as share prices for the company's stock jumped 17% this morning. (via: Forbes)

Moschino To Show at London Fashion Week

If there really is strength in numbers then London Fashion Week is slowly becoming then next Hercules. Joining a slew of other fashion labels including Stella McCartney, McQ and Belstaff, Moschino's Cheap & Chic diffusion line is ditching Milan Fashion Week this season in favor of London. Rumoured to be showing on Saturday February 18 at a mystery location, this will be the collection's first show outside of its usual slot on the Milan Fashion Week schedule. (via: Telegraph)

Pitti Uomo Sets the Tone for A/W 2012

If the recent collections being show at Pitti Uomo are any indication, the dominant theme for menswear during the upcoming A/W 12 season remain modern, romantic and luxe. With elegant and detailed sportswear/tailoring fusions being the predominate theme, an array of contemporary inspirations on classic tailoring have become evident including figures like Aristotle Onassis and Jay Gatsby.
