Summer Music Festivals: The Governors Ball

Summer music festivals promise to be wild, memorable events. Each week we're going to give you the dirty details you need to know about an upcoming festival, so grab your buddies and check out some of the biggest and best-known bands as well as some smaller-name groups who should be blasting away on your headphones.

This week’s pick? The Governors Ball. The two-day festival held on June 23 and 24 moved to Randall’s Island Park this year. Hot bands that’ll be rockin’ out this year include: Beck, Duck Sauce, Kid Cudi and Cage the Elephant. Tickets range from two-day VIP passes priced at $300 to one day general admission tickets for $95.

You won’t be bored if you decide to take a break from the music. There’s food, lawn games and beer pong to keep you entertained, and remember to stay hydrated with some water from the free refill stations.

The forecast shows 80s for this weekend, so sunscreen, tanks and shorts are a must. Try some Makaha Drowners by M. Nii. You never know when a water fight will break out.
