Based on the art and DIY ethos of Shepard Fairey, OBEY Clothing was started in 2001 as a reflection of his work and attitude. Over the years the line has evolved from art inspired t-shirts to a full men’s and women’s collection. While the men’s line is more widely known, our women’s collection has developed look and following of its own. No longer solely a complimentary addition to the men, OBEY women’s has constantly pushed the needle when it comes to design and product, establishing its own footing in the market. While you may think you know the OBEY girl, we want to set the record straight.
For Spring 17 punk rock influences are evident in the line, but they are far from its defining characteristic. There is a youthful feel throughout the collection which exudes a modern femininity. That isn’t to say OBEY is solely for a younger customer, the individual pieces would be at home in any modern woman’s closet. Worn-in tees, skinny jeans and leather moto jackets hang seamlessly with feminine blouses, rompers and lace camis, giving the collection a wide appeal. We have fully embraced our brand’s outsider DNA, using it as an inspiration to dress the modern woman.
