SS14 Preview: Penfield

June 17, 2013 BY OBI ANYANWU

Since 1975, Penfield has been the leader in producing quality down-filled outerwear. The brand sought to produce the warmest jackets, fleece, and coats that can withstand the cold New England winter air and they have consistently delivered. Penfield excels in the colder climates, but they do not skip a beat in the warmer months. The brand's breathable and flexible Teflon™and DWR coated Ripstop fabrics are resistant to all elements of nature regardless of the season. Whether you're skiing downhill in Colorado or experiencing the rushing waters of Niagara Falls, Penfield will undoubtedly keep your warm and dry.

"For SS14 we have looked beyond the New England coast to the Pacific and the rich and vibrant palette of colours and prints from the islands," said Ben Allnutt, Penfield's Head of Design. The collection consists of a bevy of jackets and other outerwear that are made with a super lightweight technical ripstop material. The jackets will come in traditional colors and neons to form an important part of the fabric story.

Expect pops of color, bright contrast woven tapes, and 70's inspired prints to be abundant in this collection. Allnutt added, "The Penfield SS14 collection is all about fun, being at the beach, on the lakes, on the trail, at the festival or for anywhere. It's for life in the open." Not much can be shared from the SS14 collection, but Allnutt did show us a few of the prints that will be used in the collection. The neons and floral patterns from this spread are very eye catching, and we cannot wait to see the products in full in a few weeks. The anticipation is killing us!

You can see these previewed prints unveiled as full product at Capsule Paris, New York, and Las Vegas.
