Luxury loves getting into bed with subversion - think Steve Sprouse’s Vuitton graffiti, Chanel motorbike helmets – there is something so delicious about the most refined of materials and craftsmanship harmonizing with the cheeky and irreverent. United over a shared disgust at the poor availability of a decent men’s woolly-pully, East London trio, Cozette McCreery, Sid Bryan and Joe Bates gave birth to SIBLING and re-stitched the rules of male knitwear. Pooling their combined talents and impressive CV (the three have worked for McQueen, Lanvin, Fendi, Givenchy and Giles) they launched their renegade knitting label in May this year. Luxe the materials may be (fox-trims, mink-linings and cashmere) the aesthetic, however, is pure neo-punk; swarms of vermin, neon leopard print, skull-ski sweaters, sequin Breton stripes. Subtle it ain’t, but rebelliously witty and gloriously crafted, most certainly. Needles at the ready as Black Knave says, ”Vive la knitwear revolution!" (Black Knave) More pics after the jump.
