With a background in apparel design for both men and women, Jill Lindsey opened her eponymous store in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene in May 2014. “I've lived here for years and realized there was a need for a store in the neighborhood,” said Jill. “But I wanted it to be more than a store, so I incorporated the cafe with coffee, tea, wine and beer, events, and wellness activities. It has really created a sense of community in the neighborhood.”
Jill Lindsey is more of a mini department store than your typical clothing boutique. The apparel selection mixes lines like Upstate, Banjanan, Uzi, and the JL in-house brand, the jewelry department features a number of local designers like Olivia Kane and Nettie Kent, and the apothecary section stocks candles by Burnin' For You and The Sphinx & Priestess.
And then there’s the cafe, serving beverages to neighbors and friends nightly. To top it off, the space is often host to workshops, like macrame classes and floral design. “I love Fort Greene,” she said. “Some of my favorite places are obviously in the store since we have wine, coffee, and shopping, but when I am not in the store I frequent the below places.”

The best cocktails and the best bartender, Alajandro!

It's magical—tennis courts, running path, and room for picnicking.

Such good produce straight from farmers, and an amazing cheese and charcuterie selection.
