Proenza Schouler Debuts "Snowballs"

September 28, 2011 BY CAPSULESNEWS

Last night in Paris, Proenza Schouler debuted a new, four-minute short film entitled "Snowballs". Part of a collaboration with filmmaker Harmony Korine, the eerie film highlights the New York label's Navajo-inspired collection for Fall/Winter 2011. As the film begins, viewers are introduced to two extremely svelte figures dressed up in pieces from the collection and outfitted in bold Native American headdresses. Strangely, the two girls are also wearing identical masks which hide their true identities. With voices that evoke chills, the characters declare that they're from "The Battered Nation, tattered and bruised," before reassuring us that they're "still tearing shit up." Wandering through a barren rural community, the girls end up in the company of a pale and chubby old man who describes himself as a "Good 'Ole Boy." What ensued has still got us scratching our heads.
