Pointer SS14 Collection: 10 Years Later

July 18, 2013 BY OBI ANYANWU

London based footwear brand, Pointer was created in 2004 to fill the void of well-designed casual shoes that was missing in the mid 2000s. At that time, trainers were very technical and sneakers that were worn casually had bells and whistles and loud colors. Pointer took things in the opposite direction with simple silhouettes and interesting detailing. The creative team behind the brand garners inspiration from all forms of life and multiple mediums like art, music, and sports in order to create a well-rounded shoe fit for all men of all walks of life.

For Pointer's 10th birthday coming up next year, they celebrate with a SS14 collection that holds true to their mission from day 1. The collection effortlessly blends concept and color in a way that only Pointer is capable of. The brand plays with earth tones and organic themes on shoes that are inspired by vintage tennis shoe silhouettes.

Several shoe styles are updated in SS14. The 'Crago', Pointer's two-eyelet Derby, is featured in two styles this season. One has an unlined, reversed full grain leather upper and the other is a two-tone Wolverine suede shoe. The non-formal cap toe Blucher called the 'Willard' is offered in Wolverine suede blended with a heavy canvas and lined in contrasting leather. The 'Taylor', boat shoe inspired design, will utilize heavy canvas uppers mixed with cool and dry nubuck leather. Lastly, the 'Seeker', Pointer's iconic shoe, is offered in two different versions, one with a full canvas upper with a toe-guard design, and another in Wolverine suede with suede toecaps.

Pointer is celebrating their 10th birthday in a big way next year, and with all new updates to their classic styles it looks like they're reinventing themselves for another solid decade.

Pointer Footwear will show their SS14 Collection at Capsule New York this Monday and Tuesday, and at Capsule Vegas next month.
