John Varvatos embraces the svelte figure with his ss10 collection. Shorts sit taught and narrowly on legs; waistcoats and shirts barely make it past the navel finish-line. And it seemed as if the collection was in mourning – hues rarely ventured out of the grey/black/navy neighborhood. Occasionally, a flash of red or yellow would strut down the runway like the sun breaking through a cloudy sky. But not to grouse… the collection was elegant, sophisticated. One can easily imagine a neo-Bourbon court clad in Varvatos’s latest.
