We've known for some time that come September, New York Fashion Week would be in need of a new venue after IMG announced they would not be returning to Lincoln Center. Today, IMG confirmed to WWD that the lucky home chosen would actually be split into two locations: Skylight at Moynihan Station (33rd St at 8th Ave) and Clarkson Square (550 Washington St).
Notably, the Clarkson Sq location will also host the inaugural New York Fashion Week: Men's shows this July.
The venues will be familiar to many on the Fashion Week circuit, as Ralph Lauren, rag & bone and Theyskens' Theory have utilized the spaces for presentations over the years.
WWD reports that Skylight should be an alternative to the crowded schedule and overly commercial atmosphere at Lincoln Center that drove designers to seek out off-site venues and sent attendees scrambling to disparate locations city-wide.
Still, no one should get too comfortable at Skylight; once the long-gestating Hudson Yards opens, NYFW is expected to make a more permanent home there.
