NY Fashion Week SPURR S/S2010

September 11, 2009 BY CAPSULESNEWS

I had the chance last season to meet with Spurr Designer, Simon Spurr in the Starworks showroom.  Since then Spurr has earned himself a 2009 CFDA nomination and continued the momentum with the S/S 2010 collection. From far away the spring collection features streamlined suits in salmon and military green, slim cuffed trousers in a variety of silks and linens, and sharp pin point shirts. Up close, Spurr's attention to detail is exceptional.  With thoughtfully placed pockets and zippers, the clothes are the perfect marriage of form and function.  Notable looks included a worker inspired denim button down paired silk/wool suit pants. Not to mention it was hard to take your eyes off the model dressed in the salmon colored wool/linen patch pocket suit.  With the new spring collection, you see a real cohesiveness in the clothes and an evolution into a really solid brand. Spurr has built his label based on a unique ability to whip up exquisitely tailored clothes, combining the classic with the fresh and modern. And this season was no exception!  More pics after the jump. (Ashley Bell)
