We are sad to report that one of the fashion world's most creative and influential people, Isabella Blow, passed away suddenly from cancer on monday morning at age 49. Blow was a living legend, known for her outrageous style, and her signature over-the-top Philip Treacy hats. Born to a noble English family, she began her editorial career serving as an assistant to Anna Wintour at American Vogue in 1981 and held posts at British Vogue, the Sunday Times Style magazine and, most recently, Tatler. A champion of young designers, she is credited for launching the career of Alexander McQueen, and Julien MacDonald, and models like Sophie Dahl and Stella Tennant. Eccentric, exuberant and a true original, she will be sorely missed.
