The Southern California skate scene has influenced fashion for decades, and for AW16, the lifestyle has made an impact on the runways of some of the most sought after progressive brands coming out of the US. This season, the references are darker and more experimental than in seasons past. Stampd LA is leading the movement out of Southern California that takes its influences from SoCal lifestyle and East Coast urban culture. Chris Stamp, designer of the self described “avant street” label offers an elevated take on street and skate, employing non traditional silhouettes, and high end fabrications for the collection.
Stampd has transcended its West Coast roots, and is now a favorite of Kanye West and Justin Beiber. The brand has been named GQ’s 2015 Best New Menswear Designers, and recently showed at NYFW:M, exposing the brand to a global audience with its new vision of luxury streetwear. The brand is making moves, and is planning to open its first freestanding store in LA later this year.
Stampd will be at Capsule Las Vegas
