While we wave goodbye to London Fashion week, popularly known as the London Collections and welcome Pitti and then Paris with open arms, we must give a certain last collab shout-out: Hood By Air partnered up with Corgi to produce a SS14 collection for London Collections Men that was invigorating and exciting.
Throwing away the lifeless models and cookie cutter show set ups that many houses of fashion traditionally have held on to, HBA X Corgi sourced their models from the skate park and threw a party in a car-park turned skate-park to premiere their collection of completely wearable (and wish-list worthy) street gear. Complete with a DJ duo and never-ending cocktails, the models walked and rolled in through a skate ramp while the audience walked around observing, drinking and celebrating the collabs first appearance at LCM.
But lets talk about the clothes for a second, the pieces were wild and dark reminiscent of youth rebellion and skate culture. What stuck out the most was the liveliness of the pieces; sangbleu.com states it perfectly when they say "these clothes looked like they were being lived in by an individual living a full life rather than the alienation of most fashion communication". These were screaming out for us to jump right in and get dirty. See them for yourself, along with a peek into the minds behind the collection, in the video below.
