The third annual Frieze Art Fair kicked off this weekend in Randall's Island, NYC. Focusing on contemporary art and living artists, Frieze unites collectors and visitors from all over the world in one international gallery. The emerging galleries were showcased at Focus and Frame sections. Focus galleries consists of established artists that have launched less than ten years ago and have curated projects specifically for Frieze New York. The Frame section, dedicated to galleries established less than six years ago, presented installations and were advised by curators Raphael Gygax and Tim Saltarelli. What started out as a magazine in 2012 by Matthew Slotover and Amanda Sharp of Frieze magazine quickly evolved into a full blown global art exhibit, Frieze Art Fair. Sponsored by Deutsche Bank, only the best artists in contemporary art are curated to showcase their collections and we look forward to checking out each gallery each year.
