Fashion Hits the Basel Crowd

December 02, 2009 BY CAPSULESNEWS

It seems like half the fashion industry is down in Miami for Art Basel this week, but now, a retail developer has given fashion a spot on the calendar. Limited Edition Experience is an installation of 19 pop up shops located in the Design District. Participating designers will include Proenza Schouler, Duncan Quinn, Christian Dior Homme, L’Eclaireur, Stubbs and Wooton, Billionaire Boys Club and Neon Monster all with shops under 1 roof in the historic Moore Building. Each participant will create unique retail environments (such as Duncan Quinn’s townhouse with croquet). In addition, Gucci will launch the second installment of ICON?TEMPORARY, a flash sneaker store that will debut later this month in New York. For this unique retail experience, Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini has collaborated with award winning musical artist Mark Ronson on the design of a limited edition collection of Gucci Ronson sneakers. After Miami, Gucci ICON?TEMPORARY will move on to London and Tokyo. The project is the brainchild of retail developer Craig Robins. (photo Dazed)
