Many a blog post has been written about fashion's love affair with Instagram and how vital the photo sharing app has become to many designers, retailers, editors and aspiring trendsetters. If the marriage between the two wasn't official before, it certainly is now, with today's news, as reported by Mashable's David Yi, that former Lucky Editor in Chief Evan Chen has landed a plum spot at Instagram, where she will be overseeing fashion partnerships.
Chen will be the first to hold this position, a point that seems inevitable in retrospect, given her extensive follower count (390K and growing) and the fact that she has her own industry mini-meme to her credit (#evachenpose).
Chen is expected to begin her work with Instagram in late July.
