From a list that also included some of the most exciting names in UK menswear - like Astrid Anderson, Christopher Raeburn, Matthew Miller and Sibling - E. Tautz has emerged victorious to claim this year's British Fashion Council / GQ Designer Men's Wear Fund. The prize includes a receive a 12-month mentorship program and £150,000 (or roughly $235,160).
Designer Patrick Grant has been at the helm of the revived British brand since its relaunch in 2009; it was originally founded in 1867. In addition to his work at E. Tautz, Grant is also the host of a UK television show called, somewhat hilariously, "The Great British Sewing Bee." Previously, he was awarded Menswear Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards.
Last year, The BFC / GQ award went to another darling of London menswear, Christopher Shannon.
A round of applause for everyone involved.
