For the latest installment of its 5x5 series, Los Angeles-based footwear company CLAE has teamed up with Japanese reggae sound system Mighty Crown to mark the celebration of their 20th anniversary. Since stepping out onto the scene back in 1991, the Yokohama-based musicians broke boundaries and set new standards for their genre. Considering CLAE's involvement with music and the arts, it was only fitting that they approached Mighty Crown to design a limited-edition version of the McQueen sneaker. In addition to the shoe, Mighty Crown also created a custom, 36-track mix tape which serves as the inspiration for a visual art piece by legendary graffiti artist turned painter West One. While the customized track created by Mighty Crown can be found below, the collaborative sneaker (of which only300 pair were produced) will be released at a special release party in NYC this Wednesday night.
