Today we are checking in with Carl Cunow of ONIA-- the swimwear label that made a big splash when it debuted SS11 at (capsule) last summer. he and his teamed made a damn near perfect swim short in a range of colors and lengths, and for Summer/ Resort 11, old Miami serves as an inspiration for the collection as seen in the washed out colors, and a new, shorter cut. Onia will be introducing a 10 inseam swim trunk, as well as brighter colors like orange and white. They are also introducing 4 new prints that will be printed on a laundered cotton/nylon fabric and are also starting to use a lighter weight cotton/nylon fabric.
"The Spring 11 collection was a success to many retailers both domestically and abroad," reports Carl. "The key items for retail in the spring are of course our swim trunks, but also our newly introduced paneled board shorts. The best selling colors were black, army green, khaki and red. Lots of editors shot the black, army green and khaki because of how well they look merchandised together."
