Vegas Preview: Chaff, handmade jewelry from Japan

August 01, 2016 BY CAPSULE

Masahiko Nakane's line, Chaff, intertwines the worlds of nature, travel, and design. The collection of understated silver jewelry reflects his trips around the world, which inspired him to begin the line in the first place. In travels to Asia, the Middle East, Europe and America, Nakane has crossed paths with fellow craftsman, and in turn, mastered the classic art of making jewelry. He inventively infuses Japanese heritage and tradition, like indigo-dyed vintage fabric and the belt of a kimono, with silver to create something new.

In 2010 Nakane launched his own line, which is now sold all over the world. To this day, each piece remains handmade from start to finish, with the goal to connect its wearer to nature, and evoke a sense of comfort and warmth.

See Chaff at Capsule Las Vegas, August 15-17.
